2018 Wrap Up!

2018 flew by really fast, isn't it? I still remember the time I was writing my Wrap Up for 2017!

To be honest, I am not really excited to revisit my 2018 compared to the last two years. I think you can clearly tell because this post is like five months overdue.

This year, for me, felt dull and uninteresting; I felt like I didn't accomplish anything significant. I settled, a lot. I feel stuck and unmotivated most of the times. The only redeemable events for me this year were my travels with Kevin and the times I went home to spend time with my family.

ANYHOW, my tone is getting depressing LOL let’s get this over with!

The first quarter: New Year in Manila and 5th anniversary with Kevin

  • I flew home to Manila to celebrate New Year’s with my family.
  • Watched Disney on Ice with my family.
  • I met up with my girlfriends, and we had a staycation. I also met up with my Trend Micro friends.
  • Kevin and I celebrated our 5th year anniversary. We were not together on the day itself as he was in Singapore, but we already celebrated it in advanced when we went to Malaysia the previous month.
  • In February, I flew home again during the Chinese New Year weekend to celebrate my mum’s birthday.
  • Travelled to Taiwan for a week with Kevin to continue our 5th year anniversary celebration. We tried paragliding for the first time, and we witnessed the magnificent Pingxi Sky Lantern Festival.

The second quarter: 26th birthday

  • In April, Kevin’s family visited Singapore to celebrate his birthday.
  • Kevin and I donated blood for the first time.
  • Travelled to Luang Prabang, Laos for my birthday — Kevin’s gift!

The third quarter: Vietnam trip, friends and family in SG, and PARAMORE

  • In August, I saw Paramore live!
  • My college friends, and Kevin’s sister’s family came to SG for a visit.
  • In September, Kevin and I travelled to Ho Chih Minh City, Vietnam. Phở is soooo good!!!
  • Reignited my love for film photography. Resurrected my good ole film camera, the Olympus Trip 35, and took it with me during our Vietnam trip. I also bought a new film camera, a Yashica T3.
  • Movies under the stars experience. Watched The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society.
  • I bought a new phone lol

Fourth quarter: Sad November, and Christmas in Manila

  • In November, my paternal grandfather passed away. Flew home to attend his funeral. This was my first funeral of a close family member.
  • Flew home again for Christmas.
  • My family and I went for a road trip and staycation in Tagaytay and spent Christmas day there.
  • Had a Christmas party with my college friends.
  • My family and Kevin’s family had a Christmas dinner together.
  • Had a Christmas party-slash-reunion with the Velasco clan in Pampanga to honour my grandfather’s wishes.
  • Kevin gifted me a Nintendo Switch. I got so addicted with Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
——— How was your year? If you had a not-so-good 2018 like me, I hope we can recover and come back strong this 2019! See you again on my next Wrap Up next year!
